IceSpeed 810nm and AlexPro 760/808nm

IceSpeed, available in 1200W and 2800W versions, is a concentrate of cutting-edge technology: it uses the 810nm wavelength, the ‘motion speed’ operating mode that allows you to cover large areas in a very short time, the module cooling with “efficient cooling” technology and pulse management in “Super Burst” mode, making it one of the best semiconductor lasers on the market.

AlexPro, with 4000W of power, is a technology exclusive to Biotec Italia. It manages simultaneously the wavelengths 760 and 808nm, dosing them in the desired percentages depending on the phototype and characteristics of the hair. It combines all the characteristics of alexandrite with the advantages of diode: it is the only laser able to safely treat all skin types, even dark phototypes, from light hair with a very thin texture to darker hair, performing fast treatments with maximum comfort all year round, thus becoming the gold standard for hair removal.

CPL Calibrated Pulsed Light

The CPL applicator emits high intensity pulsed light, and consists of a Xenon lamp and a special optical guide capable of generating a very intense beam of light that selectively radiates the area to be treated.

A specific optical filter, interchangeable, adapts the wavelength to the type of skin and imperfections to be treated: superficial vascular and pigmented lesions, photo epilation, photo rejuvenation and acne treatment.

In photo rejuvenation treatment, the light emitted by the applicator stimulates the production of new collagen and improves the tone, texture and brightness of the skin, acting in a non-invasive manner, with precision and speed of execution.

Frequently asked questions

How do IceSpeed and AlexPro work?

The handpiece emits light of a wavelength close to infrared, which is absorbed by the melanin located in the hair follicle. The laser beam is emitted only for a fraction of a second, which is long enough to damage the follicle while leaving the surrounding tissues intact, thanks to the cooling system at the tip of the handpiece, which protects the skin during laser energy emission.

What is the difference between the semiconductor laser and other hair removal methods?

Shaving, waxing, depilatory creams, are all temporary systems that need to be repeated frequently and none of them can offer a reduction in growth or treat ingrown hairs. The semiconductor laser guarantees a permanent reduction in the number of hairs and is also effective on ingrown hairs.

Is the treatment of hair removal with the semiconductor laser painful?

When using the semiconductor laser in the operating mode called “motion speed” the treatment is practically painless. By using higher fluences, the sensitivity to treatment is higher and varies from person to person.

Can IceSpeed and AlexPro also be used on dark or tanned skin?

IceSpeed and AlexPro can effectively and safely treat all skin phototypes (Fitzpatrick I-VI) and even tanned skin. For darker phototypes and tanned skin, there are special parameters: generally lower energy levels and longer pulse duration are used to avoid skin damage. By selecting the right parameters, any skin type can benefit from semiconductor laser hair removal treatment.

Are the results permanent?

Semiconductor lasers have a proven effectiveness for permanent hair reduction on all skin types, including tanned skin. To achieve satisfactory results, 3-5 treatments are generally required.

What advantages does the Nd:YAG LP laser have in treating vascular lesions compared to traditional methods?

The Nd:YAG LP laser offers important advantages compared to injection therapy or electrocoagulation, allowing the treatment of vascular lesions even difficult to resolve. In addition, laser therapy is fast, less painful and minimally invasive.

How does the Nd:YAG LP laser treat hemangiomas?

Mature hemangioma can be very thick and invasive and therefore occur both on the superficial area of the skin and in the deeper one. Thanks to the Nd:YAG LP laser, it is possible to treat hemangioma on the surface and in depth. Few applications are required to treat most hemangiomas successfully.

How does the tattoo removal treatment work?

The working principle of Q-switched nd:YAG laser is based on the fragmentation of tattoo ink through the selective absorption of two specific wavelengths, 1064 and 532nm, selected according to pigment color. After the absorption of light, the ink particles are partially destroyed and reduced to smaller fragments. Subsequently, the ink fragments undergo phagocytosis by macrophages (cells responsible for the removal of foreign particles) and are removed from the body through the lymphatic system.

How many treatments are needed to remove a tattoo?

The removal of a professional tattoo is usually a progressive process that requires a series of sessions, carried out with an interval of at least 6-8 weeks. Professional tattoos usually require 5-10 sessions to achieve a satisfactory result. The factors that determine the number of applications required are the depth, color, amount of ink and location of the tattoo. Usually amateur or superficial tattoos are removed in fewer sessions.

Can the Q-switched nd:YAG laser remove benign hyperpigmented lesions?

Most acquired or congenital benign skin, epidermal or dermis lesions can be treated with the Q-switched nd:YAG laser. Clinical indications are numerous: freckles, café au lait spots, ephelids, pigmented lesions on the dermis, such as Nevus of Ota, Nevus of Ito, Nevus of Hori, and other congenital and non-congenital pigmented lesions.

How does the Erbium YAG laser work in skin regeneration?

The Erbium Yag laser is designed as a treatment of choice to regenerate the skin both deep down and on the surface. The emitted wavelength is absorbed by the water contained in the skin. The laser pulses treat wrinkles, scars, dark spots and other skin irregularities layer after layer. In addition, this process stimulates the formation of new collagen which provides better elasticity and support to the skin.

What types of skin lesions can Erbium YAG laser treat?

Erbium YAG laser is indicated for skin lesions such as sun keratosis, slightly atrophic facial scars (acne, chickenpox), dyschromia (melasma, freckles), facial wrinkles. Using pulses of variable depth, even patients with deeper wrinkles can achieve excellent results.

What are the advantages of Erbium YAG laser compared to CO2 laser?

CO2 laser has become popular among cosmetic surgeons, and its advantages and limitations are well documented. Erbium YAG laser produces a laser beam that has a very high affinity with the water contained in the tissues, higher than CO2 laser; indeed, the 2940nm wavelength has the ability to absorb water 16 times more than CO2 laser, so its penetration into the skin, although lower, is still very effective, performing at the same time, a less aggressive action with much faster recovery time.

What is the Photofacial procedure?

The CPL applicator effectively treats skin rejuvenation by emitting a wide spectrum of wavelengths absorbed by different chromophores (targets) in the skin: pigment and water. This technology provides excellent results in the treatment of a variety of problems, including skin blemishes, freckles, rosacea and couperose, wrinkles and fine lines, dilated pores, skin laxity and other imperfections. CPL treatments give the skin a youthful appearance and do not require long recovery times.

What is the quality of the results?

The speed, effectiveness and safety of the treatment guarantee patient satisfaction. No special post-treatment recovery time is required and normal daily activities can be resumed immediately. Patients may notice a marked improvement after just a few treatments.

Is the CPL applicator effective on acne?

The CPL applicator has revolutionized the treatment of acne; indeed, its selective action fights the most common bacteria that cause acne effectively, without medication, without particular discomfort and without downtime. The CPL applicator has proven to be one of the safest and most effective procedures available for the treatment of acne.

Who is the ideal candidate for a Photofacial procedure?

The Photofacial procedure is particularly suitable for younger patients who begin to notice early spots, small wrinkles and uneven skin tone, and want or need intensive treatment that can initiate a deep regeneration process to prevent and slow down skin aging.

Is the CPL treatment painful?

It is possible to feel a slight discomfort during treatment, but this is well tolerated by the majority of patients. The first treatment is usually the most irritating, then the procedure becomes more tolerable. The time required for a treatment usually varies from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated.

Is the CPL applicator effective for treating Rosacea?

The broad spectrum of emission combined with the high level of energy available, allows a therapeutic approach to the problems related to rosacea, ensuring excellent patient satisfaction.
